‘We don't want them here’ - Thomas Frank insists Tottenham need players who wish to play for Spurs after public Eberechi Eze rejection

It has been a miserable week for anyone connected with Spurs after the humiliation of missing out to bitter rivals Arsenal for the signing of Eze and a worrying update on injured Dejan Kulusevski. But Spurs boss Frank has come out swinging and claims he only wants players who are fully committed to the club - and believes fans feel the same. He also confirmed Tottenham will continue the hunt for new talent this summer.

The writing was on the wall for Spurs as soon as Arsenal made their move but the optics of it look awful for Daniel Levy, having laboured for weeks and failed to get the deal done. However, Eze has returned to his boyhood club and Tottenham have made an effort to move on as quickly as possible. The final few days of the transfer window will be interesting in the white half of north London.

Frank told reporters: "In general I don't want any players that don't want to come to this club and wear this fantastic badge. We don't want them here and I'm sure fans feel the same. We are in the market and will look to strengthen the squad."

Tottenham face Manchester City in the early kick-off on Saturday and have a strong recent record, having won two of their last four league meetings there. And Spurs are expected to ramp up their bid for City attacker Savinho following the match.
