Serie B: Donadoni set to be sacked by Spezia; D'Angelo ready to return

Roberto Donadoni faces the prospect of being sacked at Spezia.

Following Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 comeback defeat away to Juve Stabia, the Ligurian club is set to change manager.

The team are in the relegation zone in third-last place with 30 points (the same as second-last Reggiana) from 32 league matches in Serie B, with six rounds remaining in the regular season.

The play-out zone is just one point above them, whilst the safety zone is four points away.

  • D'ANGELO READY TO RETURN

After a five-year break from management, Donadoni took charge of Spezia on 4 November (when the team were bottom of the table with seven points from 11 games, just like Sampdoria) following the sacking of Luca D'Angelo, and is now set to be recalled as manager.

The decision will be made later today by the club’s owners. The owner of the Ligurian club is Charlie Stillitano, who, as a director, brought Donadoni to play for the Metrostars in 1996.
