The Red Dragons thought they had left the group of Manchester United legends at Peninsula Stadium behind when securing promotion out of League Two. Hollywood superstars in North Wales succeeded where Premier League greats failed in bouncing straight through the fourth tier of English football.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham and Salford shared the points in their two meetings last season, with both winning on home soil and scoring three goals in the process. They are now set to cross paths again after being drawn together in North Group B of the 2024-25 Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Wrexham are also set to come up against another League Two side in the form of Port Vale, having faced them in the same competition 12 months ago – prevailing 2-1 at SToK Racecourse courtesy of second-half goals from Paul Mullin and James McClean.
