Roberto Martinez issues verdict on 'attitude' of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr after CR7's son makes debut for Portugal's U15s

Ronaldo Jr, at 14 years of age, has made his international bow at U15 level. He helped Portugal to ultimate glory at the Vlatko Markovic international tournament, with silverware being lifted in Croatia.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother attended that event, as her grandson impressed with his quick footwork and eye for goal - two qualities that he has seemingly inherited from his Ballon d’Or-winning father.

It has been suggested that CR7, who has already passed his 40th birthday, will look to prolong his remarkable playing career in order to one day line up alongside his son. They are both on the books of Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr at present.

Having seemingly pledged allegiance to Portugal, Ronaldo Jr could one day become a team-mate of his famous father at international level. Martinez told Sport TV of the progress being made by a talented teenager: “It was very nice to see Cristiano Júnior's attitude and that is not easy when the media is watching an under-15 game. We have to give him space.”

Ronaldo Jr is eligible to represent five nations - Portugal, the United States, Spain, England and Cape Verde. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him domestically, as his father is seeing a move away from Al-Nassr speculated on as a free agent.
