When asked about his possible successor, the 36-year-old admitted that "it's not easy" to find his replacement and even top-tier forwards like Erling Haaland and Viktor Gyokeres might struggle to replicate his scoring consistency at the Catalan giants.

The Polish goal machine Lewy's comments come at a crucial time for Barcelona, as the club navigates a rebuild under coach Hansi Flick. Despite being in the twilight of his career, Lewandowski remains a central figure and continues to silence critics concerned about his age. His remarks about the lack of long-term high-output strikers highlights his self-confidence and the growing scarcity of reliable goal-striking strikers in world football.

With Barca’s system demanding a well-rounded forward, replacing Lewandowski won't be just about the talent: "I haven't seen many players so far who play at their best for more than two or three years and score more than 40 goals. That's why it's not easy, and I'm talking about a player who hasn't just made a mark in one or two seasons, but in three, four, five, and more. And that's not easy."

Lewandowski was asked if Haaland or Gyokeres could be his successor, replying: “I think the club also has some players in other positions, but in the end, you have to have a perfect solution for the signing, but also for the club, the coach, or the system you want to play in. Finding a goal-scoring striker isn't easy in football these days."

At 36, Lewandowski finished as Barca’s top scorer for the third straight season. His 42 goals this campaign match some of his best-ever totals from his Bayern Munich days. The Spanish champions won all four Clasicos this season, including a memorable 4-0 thrashing at the Bernabeu.

Now on holiday after a successful season, the striker confirmed he is mentally and physically prepared to continue at the top level for at least one more year, suggesting he may be entering his final year in Blaugrana colours.
