Angel Di Maria’s transfer plans have been revealed, with the World Cup winner set to join Lionel Messi in MLS after taking in a Rosario pit stop.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The 36-year-old forward is approaching the end of his contract during a second spell at Portuguese giants Benfica. He will hit free agency this summer, with the plan being to return to his roots in Argentina at that stage – with Di Maria heading back to where it all began for him.

According to A Bola, Di Maria will link up with Rosario Central – his first club – on a six-month deal. After spending the rest of the calendar year in his homeland, the veteran winger will then travel north to join iconic countryman Messi at Inter Miami.

It is claimed that Di Maria’s wife and children will head to Florida this summer, allowing them to settle alongside close friends, before seeing their family reunited in January 2025. The most ambitious of MLS outfits will then welcome another modern day great onto their books.
