During his visit, Mourinho met Newcastle United and PIF chairman Yasser Al-Rumayyan. He also caught up with the chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, where they reportedly discussed life in the Kingdom and his possible move, according to Caughtoffside.

Earlier, the veteran manager expressed his desire to move to Saudi Arabia. However, he rejected a lucrative offer from the PIF last summer as he wanted to continue at AS Roma. But since his unceremonious sacking by the Italian club, Mourinho can't wait to return to football management.

It is understood that the Saudi deal makers would either offer a managerial role in one of the four PIF-owned clubs - Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli - or he would be appointed as the next Saudi men's national team head coach.
