    WHAT HAPPENED?

Madrid have not had the best time in the midfield this season as the reigning La Liga champions have struggled out of the gates this season. Carlo Ancelotti has been unable to find the right balance in the middle of the park following Toni Kroos' departure. Los Blancos saw their midfield torn apart by Hansi Flick's Barcelona last week and president Florentino Perez and Ancelotti want to sort out the mess as quickly as possible.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Madrid are not convinced by Tchouameni in the centre of midfield this season and have made him the favourite to be sold so that they can bring in another option, Relevo claims. It was reported on Wednesday that the Champions League holders are also considering signing a big name in the form of City's Rodri, who won the Ballon d'Or on Monday.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Despite the interest from the Spanish capital, Rodri may not be very keen to see a move to Madrid due to two major reasons. Firstly, due to his history with Atletico Madrid, where despite only playing for a season, he had become a fan favourite and has mentioned that he loved his time with the Rojiblancos. The second reason being Madrid's controversial reaction to him beating Vinicius Junior to the Ballon d'Or on Monday, as a number of Los Blancos players and legends seemed to disrespect the Spaniard's skill set.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR REAL MADRID?

The report from Relevo has also stated that the club and Ancelotti are set to examine Tchouameni and fellow France international Eduardo Camavinga's performances over the next few months before they decide what the future holds for their midfielders.
