RB Leipzig make huge €100m demand for Benjamin Sesko as Arsenal turn back on deal to agree terms with Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres

It had been believed that the Slovenian forward was the Gunners' preferred choice up front and reports suggested the club had put in significant work to secure his signing, but Sky Germany report that Leipzig are demanding too high a fee to complete the deal. Unable to agree a fee with the German club, Arsenal have turned their attentions to Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres - who now looks close to joining the Gunners. With Arsenal, and any other potential suitors, unwilling to match the €100m price tag, Sesko is looking more likely than ever to remain in Germany next season.

With Sesko proving unattainable, Gyokeres is now set to become Arsenal's new striker. The Swedish forward has been desperate for a move to the Gunners throughout the summer and is set to complete his dream move to the Premier League. After scoring 68 goals in 66 Liga Portugal games for Sporting, Gyokeres leaves Portugal with a proven goalscoring record and with a desire to show that he is one of the best strikers in the world and capable of performing in the Premier League.

The Gunners are beginning to ramp up their summer recruitment drive. After announcing the signing of Martin Zubimendi on Sunday morning, Arsenal are now focused on bringing in attackers. Chelsea's Noni Madueke has agreed personal terms with the club, but it remains to be seen if the Gunners and Chelsea can reach an agreement. Real Madrid's Rodrygo also remains a dream target, alongside Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze.

After completing the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Zubimendi, Brentford's Christian Norgaard is set to be the next player to walk through the door at the Emirates.
