Premier League ‘Team of 2024’ named as Man Utd star joins Mo Salah & Cole Palmer in XI - but no Bukayo Saka

As 2024 comes to an end, in his column for the Mirror, Savage named his best Premier League Team of 2024, along with the best player of the calendar year according to the former midfielder. Despite Manchester City winning the league title in the 2023-24 season, Savage picked Nottingham Forest as the best club of the year for their incredible start to the 2024-25 campaign.

He also chose Cole Palmer as the best player of the year for his sensational form for Chelsea while Enzo Maresca has been picked as the manager of the season for helping Chelsea regain their form and confidence. Under the Italian coach's tutelage, the Blues have lost twice in the league this season and are two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Finally in the Team of 2024, Savage included Palmer and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah alongside Ballon d'Or winner Rodri and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot also made the cut, however, Bukayo Saka missed out.

Team of 2024 (4-3-3): Emi Martinez (Aston Villa); Diogo Dalot (Manchester United), William Saliba (Arsenal), Gabriel (Arsenal), Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth); Martin Odegaard (Arsenal), Rodri (Manchester City), John McGinn (Aston Villa); Mo Salah (Liverpool), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Cole Palmer (Chelsea).

Saka won't care much for his exclusion from Savage's XI; he'll be eyeing Premier League glory with Arsenal. The Gunners, like Palmer's Chelsea, are trying to haul in Liverpool at the top of the table.
