Premier League asks Chelsea to clarify relationship with Todd Boehly's 'unauthorised' ticket resale website

Angry Chelsea fans called on the Premier League to act and investigate co-owner Boehly's 'unauthorised' resale website Vivid Seats, which sells tickets at vastly inflated prices. Supporters have claimed that Boehly's actions are a "breach of trust" and also undermine attempts to combat ticket touting. Boehly is an investor and director of the US-based Vivid Seats, which is on the Premier League’s list of "unauthorised ticketing websites".

The Premier League has now challenged Chelsea on this issue and written to the Blues to ask for clarification regarding their position with the ticket re-sellers, according to BBC Sport. Premier League chief executive officer Richard Masters also revealed discussions were taking place on the matter with Chelsea and are still "ongoing" at a Football Supporters' Association event last week.

Some tickets for Chelsea games at Stamford Bridge last season were for sale on the Vivid Seats website for as much as £20,000.

Chelsea are currently at the Club World Cup and play their final group fixture on Tuesday against ES Tunis, with a win likely to be enough to seal their place in the knockout stage.
