According to L'Equipe, officials at Marseille have already initiated informal talks to assess Aubameyang’s intentions and contractual status. During a recent visit to Saint-Etienne, where Aubameyang was spotted accompanying his nephew on trial at ASSE, he is said to have engaged in casual discussions with Marseille president Pablo Longoria and other club representatives. These early conversations suggest the Ligue 1 side is seriously weighing up the prospect of making a formal approach.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that although Marseille are open to the idea of signing Aubameyang, they will go ahead only if the deal aligns with their current wage structure. Aubameyang’s salary expectations will be a major determining factor in whether the move materialises. The Ligue 1 outfit are not willing to exceed their budget and have made it clear that any agreement will need to reflect their financial framework.

Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly in favour of adding Aubameyang to his attacking ranks. The Italian tactician is understood to value the striker’s wealth of experience and goal-scoring pedigree, particularly in a squad that currently leans heavily on young forwards.
