Paul Mullin's favourite Wrexham goals revealed as striker picks from his collection of 106

The prolific frontman became of the first marquee signings at SToK Racecourse following a stunning takeover by two Hollywood superstars in 2021. He was acquired as a free agent after snubbing a new deal at Cambridge, meaning that no transfer fee changed hands.

Remarkable value has been found in that deal, with Mullin helping to fire Wrexham to back-to-back promotions. He became a centurion on the goal front during the 2023-24 campaign – en route to winning a third successive Player of the Year award in North Wales – and has one effort to his name this term after returning from summer surgery.

Speaking to The Leader, Mullin has said when asked to pick out his most memorable goals: “The one against Stockport in the FA Trophy and the one against Boreham Wood on the day we made sure of promotion back to the Football League. The Stockport goal meant so much because it meant us getting through to Wembley. Playing at Wembley is something every player wants and I’d been there with Tranmere. The whole of my family were there and I didn’t play. So to beat Stockport and score that goal was great.”

Mullin added on his stunning strike against Boreham Wood, which came on the day that Wrexham secured promotion back into the Football League: “I knew what I wanted to do when I got the ball and just did it. It was a great goal but because of the importance of the game and pressure that was on us to win it and get back into the Football League. I then got a second and the gaffer took me off in the 88th minute.

“I remember sitting next to Anthony Forde in the dug-out and he said ‘well done’ but I was having none of it as I wanted the final whistle to go we could start celebrating getting the job done. That day was one I’ll never forget. I love playing football, scoring goals and I love this football club and the fans too. The support they’ve given me has been incredible.”

Mullin has already become a legend at Wrexham, but will be hoping to deliver many more happy memories for the club's loyal fan base. With Reynolds and McElhenney at the helm, and the promise of more investment to come, the Red Dragons are taking aim at the Championship and Premier League.
