According to reports, Federico Valverde led a dressing room inquisition following Los Blancos' defeat, causing stars like Mbappe and Bellingham to target an early goal in the return leg.

According to Opta, Mbappe is only the second Real Madrid forward to receive a red card in the first half of a LaLiga match in the entire 21st Century, after Ruud van Nistelrooy vs Atletico Madrid in 2008.

Mbappe could potentially receive three-match ban after being handed his first-ever red card against Alaves, leaving him on the sidelines for some crucial La Liga matches in the coming weeks. With Ancelotti's side trailing Barcelona at the top of La Liga, Mbappe's absence will be a huge miss.
