Newcastle see £50m offer for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected as Magpies continue search for new forward amid Alexander Isak saga and Callum Wilson departure

According to The Athletic, Newcastle have suffered a fresh blow in their pursuit of a quality forward as Wolves have rejected their £50m offer for star forward Larsen. The 25-year-old Norwegian striker is considered a vital part of their squad and Wolves will reject any offer that comes their way in this transfer window.

Newcastle have been in the transfer market in search of a new forward since Wilson's departure from the club this summer. Isak's future also remains uncertain after the Swedish star's public outburst against the Magpies. Isak wants to move to Liverpool this summer, while Eddie Howe's side are desperate to hold on to the player.

It has been a tough transfer window for Newcastle, who have missed out on multiple strikers despite showing strong interest. Negotiations with Brentford over the transfer of Yoane Wissa have been complicated all through the summer, while they missed out on signing Benjamin Sesko, who opted to move to Old Trafford.

Howe's side will be back in action in the Premier League on Monday as they take on reigning English champions Liverpool at St James' Park.
