Just days ahead of training camp, the New York Jets have secured a key piece of their offensive core for the long haul.

Garrett Wilson, the team's standout wide receiver, has inked a four-year contract extension worth $130 million, with a whopping $90 million guaranteed. The deal ties Wilson to the Jets through the 2030 season and cements his place among the NFL’s elite earners at the position.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite putting up stellar individual numbers, Garrett Wilson has yet to taste postseason football, as the Jets continue to grapple with a playoff drought that’s stretched to 14 straight seasons. Still, the star wideout remains a beacon of consistency, fresh off a career-best 2024 campaign that featured 101 receptions, 1,104 yards, and seven touchdowns.

Now paired with newly acquired quarterback Justin Fields, Wilson is expected to be at the heart of the Jets’ offensive resurgence. The front office is also reportedly working on contract extensions for several other cornerstone pieces from their 2022 draft class, aiming to solidify the team’s long-term foundation.

Since being taken 10th overall out of Ohio State in the 2022 NFL Draft, Wilson has never missed a game, suiting up in all 51 contests across three seasons. He’s topped 1,000 receiving yards in each of those campaigns, joining elite company in NFL history.

    WHAT NEXT FOR JETS?

Looking ahead, the Jets are expected to turn their attention toward locking in long-term deals for other cornerstone talents, with All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner at the top of that list. Securing the shutdown defender would be another major step in solidifying a core group the franchise hopes can finally steer them back into playoff contention.
