Harvey went on to become chief executive of the Football League, a role he filled for eight years from 2011, before starting a consultancy business. It was that move that led him to Wrexham. He has been able to join the board in North Wales as EFL rules state that people can only be prevented from taking such a step if “they have been a director of a football club which has suffered two insolvency events past June 2004 or separate football clubs which have each suffered an insolvency event past June 2004.”
