'I nearly had a blackout!' - Inter hero Davide Frattesi reveals he suffered 'dizzy' spell in wild celebrations after scoring winning goal vs Barcelona in Champions League classic

The Italian midfielder etched his name into Inter's history books as he scored the winning goal in the 99th minute to secure a Champions League final berth for his team. Inter gave up a two-goal lead to trail 3-2 against Barcelona in the final moments of the semi-final second leg, but Francesco Acerbi's 93rd-minute equaliser dragged the game into extra time. Frattesi then scored the winning goal in the first half of extra time and ran straight towards the fans as wild celebrations erupted in San Siro.

The 25-year-old later revealed that the crazy celebrations took a toll on his physical condition, as he claimed he suffered a "dizzy" spell after the goal. Frattesi also credited the team physios for getting him match fit despite an abdominal strain.

Speaking to reporters, the Inter hero said: "I was fortunate to see out the game, as I was celebrating so much I was dizzy and nearly had a blackout! I have to thank the physios, because yesterday I had an abdominal strain, so they did incredible work getting me fit for this match. It's just incredible, I don't know what to say. I thought after the Bayern Munich game I couldn't repeat that emotion, but it was even more incredible tonight. This is the beauty of football. This has been my career, really. I wasn’t blessed with incredible talent, but I am the last to give up and the first to believe, so this is a reward for effort and dedication."

Simone Inzaghi's side will now shift their focus to the Serie A title race, where they are trailing league leaders Napoli by three points. They will be next seen in action on Sunday against Torino in a crucial away fixture.
