World Cup winner Mbappe became another ‘Galactico’ at Santiago Bernabeu during the summer of 2024. A slow start to life in Spain led to early questions being asked of his value to the collective cause, with Brazilian forward Vinicius retaining his standing at the top of the pecking order as he competed for the prestigious Ballon d’Or.

According to Cadena SER, Mbappe is now considered to be the squad leader. He has won over team-mates and coaching staff with his bold personality, with the 26-year-old starring on the pitch while operating as a “relaxed natural” in front of the media.

Vinicius remains a talismanic presence for Real when available but, as his stock in the dressing room diminishes, it remains to be seen what action the Blancos will take as their South American forward attracts more interest from the big-spending Saudi Pro League.
