More history for Mohamed Salah! Liverpool star becomes first player in Premier League history to score 10 opening day goals

Salah scored Liverpool's fourth goal in a pulsating, topsy-turvy 4-2 win over Bournemouth on Friday. The goal from the Egypt international extended a remarkable record; he has now scored 10 goals on Premier League opening days; he was already the most prolific player on gameweek one, but he is the first to hit double figures. 

Four players have scored eight goals on opening days and they are all iconic figures: Jamie Vardy, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, and Frank Lampard. Salah's goal against Bournemouth also marked his 187th in the Premier League, drawing him level with fourth-placed Andy Cole in the all-time Premier League goalscorer list.

Salah ended the night in tears as the Kop belted out Diogo Jota's name on an emotionally-charged evening at Anfield. The Reds paid tribute to the late Portugal international in poignant scenes both pre and post-match. 

Liverpool play Newcastle in their next Premier League game, and Salah will be out to hit the back of the net once again.
