MLS return for USMNT star Matt Turner? Nottingham Forest open to offers for goalkeeper as interest is shown from his native America during summer transfer window

Nottingham Forest are open to offers for the United States international, having seen him slip down the pecking order at the City Ground. Turner was intended to be their No.1 when arriving from Arsenal in the summer of 2023, but a number of costly errors led to alternative options being explored.

Turner’s last outing for the Reds of any kind came in a FA Cup clash with Manchester United on February 28, while he has not seen Premier League action since January 30. Limited game time is doing the 29-year-old few favours as he seeks to remain first choice for his country.

With that in mind, and Forest looking to generate funds while freeing up space in their squad, The Athletic reports that another deal could be done in the coming weeks. They claim that MLS sides are monitoring the former New England Revolution shot-stopper.

Turner may be open to the idea of heading home, as he seeks regular minutes and a base for his young family, but the finances involved in a deal may scupper plans in the States – with Forest not about to give away a player that they signed for £10 million ($13m) and have tied to a contract through to 2027.
