Mauricio Pochettino makes Chelsea history with starting XI for Premier League clash with Crystal Palace

The average age of Chelsea's starting lineup against Crystal Palace is 23 years and 21 days which is the youngest-ever lineup in the club's history in the Premier League and the eighth-youngest lineup overall in the league's history.

After scoring his maiden Premier League goal on his debut for the Blues in the team's 2-1 loss to Wolves on Christmas Eve, Christopher Nkunku will feature in Pochettino's starting eleven for the first time since joining the club in the summer. He has been deployed in the number 10 role, just behind Nicolas Jackson.

The Blues' starting lineup on Wednesday is the youngest in the Premier League since the Manchester United team against Crystal Palace in May 2017 whose average age was 22 years and 284 days.

Pochettino's side have lost three matches out of their last five Premier League outings and currently find themselves struggling down in 11th position in the table. They will aim to pick up a win at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday before they face Luton Town on Saturday in their final fixture of 2023.
