Getafe hoping to keep loanee
WHAT HAPPENED?
Greenwood played a key role in Getafe's victory at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. Borja Mayoral opened the scoring after five minutes from the penalty spot, before Greenwood teed up Jaime Mata to make it 2-0. The United loanee spotted Mata's run down the left flank and picked him out perfectly to run though on goal and score with a low pass. Greenwood then sealed victory with 10 minutes of normal time remaining, stroking home from the penalty spot for his second La Liga goal of the season.
Greenwood's long-term future remains uncertain, with United not expected to make a decision on the forward until next spring. In the meantime, Greenwood will continue with Getafe. Bordalas' side return to action on Tuesday in La Liga against Atletico Madrid. The competition will then take a break over Christmas, with Getafe's first game of 2024 against Rayo Vallecano on January 2.
