Mary Earps to stay? Man Utd still 'in the running' to secure England star's future despite rumours that PSG and Barcelona hold interest in Lionesses' No.1

Earps' future has been the subject of mass speculation for several months now, with there not much in the news to suggest a new deal is close to being agreed with the Red Devils. As it stands, the 30-year-old will be a free agent this summer, then, but the Daily Mail reports that United are still "in the running" to secure her long-term future.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have been linked with Earps, while Arsenal made a bid for her services last summer. However, the report notes that PSG's three international spots, reserved for players outside of the EU, are all occupied, while Barca are focusing on signing a striker and a defender this summer. The Catalans have been linked with England's Ellie Roebuck, too, another goalkeeper set to be a free agent in a few months' time.

Earps is one of just five players to have made 100 appearances for Man Utd's women's team, along with Ella Toone, Katie Zelem, Millie Turner and Leah Galton.

Despite speculation over her future being constantly in the news, Earps has remained professional and in top form for club and country this season. She has a huge game for United coming up next, as they take on Arsenal in a bid to claw back some ground in the race for Champions League. She will then join up with England for their first fixtures of 2024 later this month.
