Rashford’s lack of end product, which has come on the back of signing a lucrative new contract, has led to inevitable questions being asked of his contribution. After hitting the net against Spurs, Rashford celebrated by making mouth movements with his hand – suggesting that some people like to talk too much.
DID YOU KNOW?
Former United captain Keane, who was on Sky Sports punditry duty, said of Rashford’s celebration: “I don’t know what that is all about. We need to see more; he’s shown it before, and he’s got the quality. Why does he seem to be upset with everybody? He’s got to go and enjoy it he’s playing for Man United.”

A Red Devils supporter has attempted to shed light on why Rashford may be eager to make a point to his detractors – with more questions being asked after he wished Jadon Sancho well during a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund – and a post on social media read: “He’s clearly referring to the abuse he’s been subjected to this week since he commented on Sancho’s post. They literally questioned his loyalty and commitment to us, and he did shut them up by scoring AND assisting. If he didn’t score, he’s sh*te, if he does it’s this BS smh.” Rashford responded to that message by saying: “Thank you for clarifying this matter.”
WHAT NEXT FOR RASHFORD?
Rashford will hope to see his football do the talking from now on, with the 26-year-old proving against Spurs that he can be a devastating finisher when presented with opportunities in the final third. United will not be back in action until January 28, when they take in an FA Cup fourth-round clash with either Newport County or Eastleigh.
