WHAT HAPPENED?
According to The Standard, United have enquired about the 28-year-old but negotiations are not yet a serious stage and no offer has been submitted. The report states Brentford are hopeful interest in the England international could lead to a bidding war.
Toney, who was left out of Brentford's first two Premier League games this season due to the transfer speculation surrounding him, has scored 72 goals in 141 games for Thomas Frank's men since signing in 2020 from Peterborough.
