‘This is nuts' - Man City players left stunned by poor run as 'objects thrown' and dressing room rows break out in Pep Guardiola’s struggling squad

Following a run of six games without a win, five of which have been losses, the Daily Mail claims City players have thrown objects in frustration in the dressing room. One player allegedly said, "I can't believe it" and another said, "This is nuts". Arguments have also reportedly sprung up amongst the squad over this tough period.

While City are just one win away from going second in the Premier League, they are eight points behind table-toppers Liverpool and face off against Arne Slot's in-form team at Anfield on Sunday. Even though City have shown their dominance in recent years and their ability to pull back points deficits in the title race, a loss at Liverpool is likely to put this season's Premier League out of reach. They need a positive run of results and fast.

Guardiola, who has led his team to a record four straight Premier League titles, was reportedly not particularly happy that the news of his two-year City deal got out a couple of days before the official announcement took place.

After facing off against Liverpool on Sunday, City host high-flying Nottingham Forest in their next Premier League encounter on Wednesday before travelling to Crystal Palace next Saturday.
