MLS record books have been rewritten by Messi, with no player in the competition’s history having ever recorded five assists in one match or posted six goal contributions through a single 90-minute appearance. Messi has also achieved those feats for the first time in his remarkable career.

Messi was named MLS Player of the Month for April and appears to be well on course to secure back-to-back awards on that front. He is also being billed as an early MVP contender, with Inter Miami determined to get their hands on more major silverware in 2024.
