    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Alexander-Arnold has firmly set his eyes on the Premier League title after seeing Liverpool end the year at the top of the standings with 42 points from 19 matches. The England international has developed a knack for scoring in important matches, finding a winning goal against Fulham and a crucial equalizer against Manchester City, and this is one of the traits that he would like to keep up in the new year.

He struck the post against Arsenal in a 1-1 draw at Anfield and speaking toSky Sportsafter the game, a frustrated Alexander-Arnold said: "I think it's one of those where I need to score. It's a position that I probably don't find myself in too often but when you're through on goal like that you need to find the back of the net."

    WHAT NEXT?

Alexander-Arnold will have little time to wind down on New Year's Eve as Liverpool return to action on January 1 against a beleaguered Newcastle United side at Anfield. The Reds will then turn their attention to a huge third-round FA Cup tie against Arsenal.
