Liverpool plan ahead! Reds to target rising Frankfurt star Willian Pacho this summer - but defender would only make transfer in 2025

According to BILD, the Reds are keen on signing the 22-year-old Ecuadorian defender in the summer, however, they could loan him back to the German side for his further development as a player before he heads to Anfield in 2025. The plan is to seal the deal as early as possible before the player's transfer value increases.

Per transfermarkt, the defender is currently valued at €30m, although it was earlier reported that the Bundesliga club are likely to demand a fee in the region of €50-60m. SGE have already identified FC Koln’s Julien Chabot and PAOK’s Konstantinos Koulierakis as possible replacements in case Pacho exits the club.

With Joel Matip set to exit Anfield at the end of the current season as a free agent, the Reds are looking to bolster their backline ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. Ace defender Virgil van Dijk has also been linked with a move away from the club amid interest from Bayern Munich and a Saudi Pro League club.

The centre-back will be next seen in action on Sunday as Dino Toppmoller's side take on newly crowned German champions Bayer Leverkusen.
