Liverpool might end up retaining Darwin Nunez's services beyond this summer as they remain firm on their €60 million (£52m/$70m) valuation of the Uruguayan forward. Napoli remain interested in signing the striker this summer but they are offering a fee of €55m for the Reds star. Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna will meet the player's agent on Monday.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds are not ready to reduce their demand of €60m for Nunez, despite strong interest from Italian champions Napoli. Nunez has been deemed surplus to Arne Slot's needs ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, but the striker could stay back at Anfield if the deadlock does not resolve quickly.
Another issue that persists is Nunez's wage demand. The striker currently earns €5.5m (£5m/$6.5m) at Anfield and is demanding €6m (£5m/$7m), while Napoli are offering a little less than that. Sporting director Manna is all set to meet the player's agent Fali Ramadani on Monday to discuss the financial aspects of the deal.
