Liverpool have launched a fresh bid for Marc Guehi as they hope that Crystal Palace will finally accept their proposal and agree to sell their star defender before the summer transfer window closes on Monday. The Reds have been linked with a move for the England international throughout the summer and the champions are determined to secure his signature.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have submitted a fresh bid worth £35 million ($47m) to sign Guehi from Crystal Palace. The Reds had earlier seen two bids rejected by the Eagles, but they remain hopeful that this time the offer will be accepted.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner had earlier expressed his desire to retain Guehi as he did not want to part ways with his star defender this late in the transfer window. The club, however, could agree to sell the player as they do not want to let him leave for free next year. The Englishman is in his final year of his deal and he has no intention of extending his stay at Selhurst Park beyond 2026.
