Liverpool overpowered Tottenham Hotspur to win 5-1 on Sunday afternoon and secure the Premier League title, but fans were left somewhat dumbstruck when blue flares were lit in the streets around Anfield as punters enjoyed the carnival atmosphere before the match.
Red smoke was seen as supporters gathered to welcome the victorious squad before kick-off, but footage shows more than a hint of blue amid the celebrations and Everton fans are thought to be behind the hilarious prank.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
One social media user claimed to know the joker behind the prank, writing on X: "My mates just texted me there. He bought 10,000 blue flares and spent the last 4 weeks taking the blue labels off them and putting red labels on them. I hope he sells the f****** lot."
The flares were evidently picked up by more than just a handful of Reds fans, with blue smoke seen throughout the pre-match jubilation.
