Juventus star Gleison Bremer is reportedly being monitored by both Liverpool and Manchester United ahead of the January window with the pair aware of a €55 million (£48m/$65m) release clause. While Juventus are keen to keep hold of Bremer, Premier League sides could potentially secure his signature by offering between €70-80 million (£61m/$82m-£70m/94m), according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve. The race is heating up as Europe’s elite monitor one of Serie A’s standout defenders.

  • Liverpool ‘firmly focused’ on Bremer

The report claims that Liverpool are “firmly focused” on the Brazilian, seeing him as a vital upgrade for Arne Slot’s backline. Bremer has bounced back impressively from a serious injury suffered last season, reasserting himself as one of the Serie A’s most reliable centre-backs.

Man United also in the mix

It’s not just Liverpool keeping tabs as United are reportedly monitoring Bremer’s situation closely, with Juventus fully aware of the interest from Old Trafford. Despite this, the Italian giants have made it clear informally that selling the defender is not part of their plans, at least in the winter.

  • Release Clause could spark January drama

Interestingly, Bremer’s contract runs until 2029, giving Juventus long-term security. However, the €55m release clause is valid between next June and July, creating a potential window for clubs to swoop in. Tutto Juve notes that if Juventus wish to remove this clause, they could offer Bremer a new contract, effectively nullifying the threat and keeping Premier League suitors at bay.
