Joshua Zirkzee wants out: Man Utd striker seeking January exit after 'frustration escalates significantly' in row over playing time

After Amorim took charge at Old Trafford last November, Zirkzee featured in 21 consecutive Premier League matches until his season was cut short by a hamstring injury. With United signing three new attackers in the summer transfer window, the Dutchman has fallen down the pecking order.

Zirkzee cannot afford to be used scarcely by Amorim as he wants to remain in contention for a spot in the Netherlands national team for the 2026 World Cup next summer. He has failed to earn a call-up in Ronaldo Koeman's latest Dutch squad for their October qualifiers and as such is now seeking a move away in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old had attracted interest from Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli in the summer, although United rejected both the proposals. With Rasmus Hojlund heading to Napoli instead, it is unknown if the Red Devils would sanction the exit of another striker.

The Sun reported last week that Como boss Cesc Fabregas has shown interest in the Dutchman as the Italian club aim to strengthen their frontline and push toward the top half of Serie A.
