Jose Mourinho to free up Lionel Messi’s old No.10 shirt at Barcelona? Fenerbahce boss eyes transfer raid for Ansu Fati after forward’s forgettable Premier League loan at Brighton

Per Marca, Mourinho is currently plotting summer moves as he looks to build his own Fenerbahce squad following his appointment earlier this summer. And he is considering a swoop for Fati, who is deemed expendable by Barcelona. The winger spent last season on loan at Brighton but only made three Premier League starts.

Barcelona would like to sell Fati but he has a contract until 2027 and a loan move is deemed more achievable. It remains to be seen if Fenerbahce would be able to fund such a deal. Fati's fall from grace has been dramatic, as he was entrusted with Messi's iconic No.10 at Camp Nou.

Barcelona are planning to keep Fati at least until the end of their pre-season tour of the United States of America. They face Manchester City, Real Madrid and Milan in the States.

Fati will hope to impress in the US and may then be able to link up with Mourinho, depending on whether they can finance such an agreement and convince the forward to make the switch.
