Jose Mourinho banned! Fenerbahce boss hit with hefty suspension for controversial comments after fiery Istanbul derby that saw Galatasaray threaten legal action
Jose Mourinho has been handed a ban for his comments after the Istanbul derby against Galatasaray last weekend.
After the fierce derby clash in Istanbul on Sunday, Mourinho criticised the Galatasaray bench for "jumping like monkeys" after an early challenge. The Portuguese coach also claimed the match would have been a "disaster" had a Turkish referee been selected to oversee the contest instead of Slovenian official Slavko Vincic. Galatasaray later responded with a strong statement accusing the Fenerbahce boss of racism and threatening legal action.
