Erling Haaland has reportedly become an “obsession” for Joan Laporta, with Barcelona’s president confident that the Norwegian striker can be prised away from Manchester City. The Blaugrana will find themselves in the market for a new No.9 during the summer of 2026 as prolific Polish frontman Roberto Lewandowski is seeing his contract run down towards free agency.
It has been claimed that Atletico Madrid’s World Cup-winning Argentina international Julian Alvarez is under consideration in Catalunya. It is, however, Haaland that remains the dream addition for ambitious Laporta.

El Nacional reports that Haaland has been Laporta’s “obsession since he became president”. They go on to claim that there is confidence behind the scenes that Haaland will “end up at Barca”.
