Joan Laporta 'obsessed' about bringing Erling Haaland to Barcelona in 2026 as long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski

Erling Haaland has reportedly become an “obsession” for Joan Laporta, with Barcelona’s president confident that the Norwegian striker can be prised away from Manchester City. The Blaugrana will find themselves in the market for a new No.9 during the summer of 2026 as prolific Polish frontman Roberto Lewandowski is seeing his contract run down towards free agency.

Replacement for Lewandowski being sought
Veteran striker Lewandowski is now 37 years of age and is not expected to be offered an extension despite netting 42 goals for La Liga title winners Barca last season. A new option to lead the line is set to be sought.
