WHAT HAPPENED?
The former Manchester United star has been a free agent since June 2023 after Nottingham Forest released him but could now head to the US as his new agents are preparing to offer him to Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers which is managed by Phil Neville, according to the Daily Mail.

The English winger recently cut ties with his former agent after failing to find a new club in the last six months. He was linked with a move to several European sides including Everton and Barcelona but the deals never materialised. He even trained with West Ham and Steven Gerrard managed Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq but no contract was offered.

The 31-year-old will hope to seal a move to the MLS club as soon as possible so that he can start afresh in America. Neville's team will begin their new season on February 25 against Colorado Rapids.
