  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Dragons are looking to bolster their ranks during the summer of 2025, with a historic run of three successive promotions lifting them up into the Championship. Premier League pedigree would be a welcome addition to Phil Parkinson’s squad.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Leicester legend Vardy would add that, as would Fulham captain Cairney, as they prepare to become free agents. Bamford, meanwhile, is a proven goalscorer that has just helped Leeds back into the big time.

  • WHAT HUMPHREY KER SAID

Ker, though, insists that none are registering on the recruitment radar at SToK Racecourse. He told The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X after seeing a list of names thrown at him and responding with "no" to all of them: “Actually, I should stop doing this, because eventually you might say someone where I have to be like, ‘Yes.’

“No, I will say that obviously one of the things is that – much like Ryan Reynolds – the name Wrexham generates clicks, so we are starting now to get linked with absolutely everybody.

“I’m like, ‘Who?’ I see people, I saw our fans getting absolutely incandescent on Twitter about it. ‘What on Earth are they doing trying to sign this guy?!’ when none of us have heard of him before!”

    DID YOU KNOW?

Community director Ker went on to say when asked about a Scotland international at Craven Cottage: “Well, I mean, he’s a brilliant player, Tom Cairney, and I’m sure we’d be very grateful to have him.

“But he is the very specific instance where our fans were like, ‘I’m not sure about this, I don’t know what they’re doing. What does this mean about our transfer thing?’ Like, we haven’t had that conversation yet.”

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

More names are being added to Red Dragons’ supposed wishlist on a daily basis - including the likes of Nottingham Forest-owned midfielder Lewis O’Brien and Wales international Charlie Savage - but it remains to be seen who actually ends up joining a Hollywood-inspired project that continues to play out in front of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary cameras.
