WHAT HAPPENED?
The England international winger has retraced steps to Signal Iduna Park after finding himself frozen out by Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. He was thrown straight back in by Dortmund against Darmstadt, despite not playing a competitive game since the end of August 2023.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Sancho was introduced off the bench by BVB boss Edin Terzic and made an immediate impact as he teed up Reus for Dortmund’s second of the game in a 3-0 win. He wasted no time in finding his feet alongside familiar faces, with end product delivered on debut.
There is no purchase option in Sancho’s loan deal, although Dortmund are open to the idea of discussing a permanent move if the 23-year-old thrives back in Germany. He left them for Manchester back in 2021 when a £75 million ($96m) transfer was put in place.
