Jaden Philogene's agent goes viral for Instagram post at Barcelona's training ground as incredible story behind proposed transfer from Hull emerges

Earlier this week, Hull's Philogene was rather bizarrely linked with a loan move to Barcelona. His agent posted two pictures on Instagram on Thursday, showing him outside of Barca's offices. Those pictures have since gone viral, because apparently Barcelona have no idea who Philogene is. Gerard Romero tweeted that the club's directors were "mystified" that they were being linked with the winger, as their top target is Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams.

Marca reports that Barcelona did scout Philogene and had received positive reports but there has been no contact between the two clubs. Sport, by comparison, reports that the pictures were taken over a month ago, and that the winger's agent was actually there to discuss youth players in Barca's academy.

It's anyone's guess as to why his agent waited until now to share the images on his social media, although many are speculating that this was done to make the most of the Philogene rumours.

Philogene has developed into a star player at Hull and is closing in on a summer transfer, but he won't be moving to Spain. Instead, the winger has interest from Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town and Everton, with the Premier League new boys leading the pack.

Philogene is reportedly set to make a decision over his future shortly. Barcelona will not be signing the star, though, so that story can be firmly put to bed.
