'Not even in the England squad' - Marcus Rashford told he's not good enough for Arsenal as Jamie Carragher delivers brutal verdict on Man Utd star

After Rashford was dropped for the Manchester derby last weekend, the 27-year-old revealed he is "ready for a new challenge". The United academy product has been linked with a transfer exit but it remains to be seen who will take him due to his huge wages. But Liverpool legend Carragher does not believe it would be wise for Arsenal to sign him, especially as he cannot get in the England squad.

He said on the Stick to Football podcast: "I think it’s time for him to move on but I’ve seen things in the papers about Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG. It’s Marcus Rashford… am I missing something? He can’t get in the Manchester United team, he’s not even in the England squad."

When asked if Rashford would improve Arsenal by Gary Neville, he replied: "Rashford? No! Oh my god, he had a four-month spell under Erik ten Hag when United were on fire. He’s been a very good player for United and a very good Premier League player, but he’s not [Mohamed] Salah, [Sadio] Mane or [Bukayo] Saka."

Despite head coach Ruben Amorim insisting United are "better with Rashford", it seems increasingly likely that the England man will be heading to pastures new in 2025, be it in January or the summer transfer window.

If Rashford doesn't play for United against Tottenham in their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash on Thursday, he will hope to feature against Bournemouth and Wolves on December 22 and 26 respectively. If not, a January exit may be on the cards.
