'Worst England performance in my lifetime' - England fans savage Lee Carsley and beg FA to 'get a proper manager' after Three Lions slip to first ever defeat to Greece

England lost 2-1 to Greece in astonishing circumstances on Thursday evening. Having picked a hugely attacking team, Carsley's side struggled for fluency and appeared to have been bailed out by a combination of VAR ruling out a late Greece goal to make it 2-0 and an 87th minute Jude Bellingham equaliser. However, an injury-time winner from Vangelis Pavlidis gave the visitors a stunning victory at Wembley.

Carsley has managed England to two wins - over the Republic of Ireland and Finland - but has also managed the country to their first-ever defeat to Greece. His line-up gamble did not pay off, and now he faces up to the prospect of having to survey the wreckage ahead of this weekend's return clash with the Finns.

England's clash with Finland now takes on even more importance this weekend. A failure to win the game would surely see Carsley's chances of getting the job permanently completely wiped out.
