Douglas Luiz heads to Ibiza to shake off Copa America blues without girlfriend & fellow Juventus signing Alisha Lehmann as he joins Vinicius Jr to celebrate Real Madrid star's birthday

Luiz shared images from the party island on Instagram, alongside brothers Daniel and Devison, as well as Vinicius Junior. The Real Madrid winger turned 24 on Friday.

After an underwhelming group stage saw Brazil take only five points and progress to the knockout rounds in second place, they fell to Uruguay on penalties in the Copa quarter-finals, with Luiz among those to miss. Coach Dorival Junior sought to deflect the blame away from his players.

Posting on Instagram, Luiz wrote: "Ibiza with the boys."

Lehmann, who completed her move to Juventus from Aston Villa quickly after Luiz had done the same, isn't in Ibiza due to being on international duty with Switzerland. She played just over 10 minutes of Friday night's 2-0 win over Turkey, which secured Switzerland's swift promotion back to League A for the next edition of the UEFA Nations League. They play again on July 16 against Azerbaijan in Lausanne to finish the campaign.

After going straight from the end of the 2023-24 club season into the Copa America, Luiz will now take at least a short break before getting into pre-season with Juventus. Lehmann will likely join him once her international duty is done, before she too embarks on getting to grips with a new chapter in Turin. Juve's men begin the new Serie A campaign on August 19, with the women following on August 31. Both have friendlies in the weeks prior.
