Derby d'Italia blow for Juventus! USMNT star Tim Weah to sit out huge Serie A clash against Inter Milan after seeing his return from injury postponed

The Bianconeri will be back in Serie A action on Sunday when playing host to arch-rivals from Milan. They will take to the field without USMNT star Weah forming part of their squad as the 23-year-old winger is still nursing a thigh problem.

Weah had to be replaced at half-time during a meeting with Verona on October 28 and has not been seen since – with international duty sat out in the November break. Scans have revealed that has suffered a “low-grade” injury to his right thigh.

It had been hoped that Weah would be ready for a recall when domestic action resumes across Europe’s top tiers, but that will not be the case and he is expected to be missing for another couple of weeks. He will now not come into contention for a place in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans until early December.

There is a chance that fellow American Weston McKennie will provide cover for Weah in his absence, with another versatile operator having already filled in at right wing-back this season. Andrea Cambiaso is another option for Allegri to consider, but he is more at home on the left flank.
