Cristiano Ronaldo agrees to extend Al-Nassr contract as he snubs potential Neymar link-up at Al-Hilal to remain 'highest-paid player in football history'

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner added that title to the many others that he already owns when agreeing a move to the Middle East in 2023. Ronaldo is working on terms in the Saudi Pro League that are said to be worth £173 million ($211m) per season.

Ronaldo’s current deal is due to expire in the summer, but Al Khabar and O Jogo are reporting that CR7 has agreed to prolong his association with Al-Nassr. He had been linked with several other clubs around the world, including Al-Hilal – where Brazilian superstar Neymar is currently plying his trade.

It is, however, being claimed that Ronaldo wants to compete with them, rather than represent them, and has sought assurances that big money will be spent in the summer transfer window as Al-Nassr take aim at the grandest of trophies.

Ronaldo has registered 81 goals through 90 appearances for Al-Nassr, with remarkable individual standards being maintained at 39 years of age. He has already become a centurion in the goal department at previous clubs Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
