WHAT HAPPENED?
The Hammers were in WSL action against London rivals Spurs on Sunday. That contest saw United States international Mewis make her bow for the Hammers – as domestic action resumed in England after the winter break.
The weather did neither side any good when West Ham faced Spurs, with Mewis struggling to take a corner at one stage. With the flag constantly blowing into her and the ball rolling away, the American required assistance from the match officials in order to complete a “comical” set-piece routine.

West Ham, with Mewis looking to play her way into peak form during a first spell in English football, will be back in action on Wednesday when facing Birmingham in the FA WSL Cup. Their next league fixture will take them to Bristol City on Sunday.
