  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Coleen, the long-time partner of Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, is reported to be earning a record-setting £1.5 million fee to enter the Australian jungle. One legendary former contestant considers that sum to be a huge "waste of money".

    THE GOSSIP

That is because Coleen will be ruled out of contention to compete in a number of Bushtucker trials, on account of her arthritis. With her screen time set to be limited as a result, Kim Woodburn has accused the famous WAG of "cowardice" and questioned why she has agreed to head Down Under.

  • WHAT WOODBURN SAID

Woodburn has told the Daily Star: "Do you know what's annoyed me in the paper? I'm a bit annoyed about this. Coleen Rooney, I looked here at the front page and it said 'she probably won't be able to do any trials because she suffers from arthritis'. Then why is she in there?

"Look, she's getting a shedload of money. Well, why are they having her in there? I don't want to look at her sitting there. It's disgusting. What are they thinking of if somebody said no she's got arthritis, she's got cowardice, it's what she's got. Why do we want her in there, sitting there? Oh, that's Wayne Rooney's wife. That's going to be a very boring show, dear. She's going to get loads of publicity, and she's not doing a thing.

"Why would you have someone in there when you're saying beforehand, I doubt they'll be able to do that. Don't they know that we public want to see them suffering – we'll all be falling asleep."

    WHAT NEXT?

Coleen will now be separated from husband Wayne for a few weeks, although the couple have grown accustomed to that of late as Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer is based in Devon – having taken the managerial reins at Plymouth – while his wife and four sons live 260 miles away in Cheshire.
