Cole Palmer's 'only weakness' revealed as Chelsea legend hails England star as 'among the best players in the world'

Palmer has been in terrific form for Chelsea this season, notching six goals and five assists in seven Premier League games. The England international has subsequently been labelled as world-class by Hasselbaink, who believes that the 22-year-old only has one real weakness.

Chelsea have enjoyed a strong start to the season under Enzo Maresca and sit sixth in the Premier League ahead of Sunday's clash with Liverpool; they have only lost one of their seven league games.

Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds, Hasselbaink said: "Cole Palmer is among the best players in the world when he’s in the zone, whatever he tries to do works.

"He plays on feeling and it’s working. He's an exceptional player. He's an exceptional talent. He doesn’t need a lot of maintenance and he just wants to play football.

"He reminds me of a street footballer from back in the day, I was afraid that they were going out of the game but he has brought that back. The only weakness you can say he has is heading the ball, but he can pass, score, assist and take free-kicks. He is exceptional."

Chelsea play Liverpool on Sunday but will have to do so without both Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella, who are both suspended.
